Behind the collection / A design notebook

A place you can keep.

Mountain Journeys explores how a landscape becomes a small object with a sense of place.

A place you can keep.

A landscape in miniature

A stair, a gate, a tree. A handful of recognisable details can suggest somewhere much larger. The Mountain Journeys studies put a character inside that landscape rather than simply placing a picture on an object.

Two ways to hold a memory

The relief study brings a scene close to a surface. The desk-scene study gives that world a little depth. They are different carriers of the same idea, rather than a promise that every character has every product format.

From study to object

These images are concept studies. Scale, construction and material choices need physical samples before any final product specifications can be published. The collection page shows the two directions side by side.
